You can improve or repeat your Grade 12 through Impaq or the Impaq Online School. If you want to improve your results in one or more subjects, you can apply to:
- Repeat your portfolio and Final Examination
- Repeat only the Final NSC Examination (terms and conditions apply)
If you went to a public or private high school or received your matric certificate through a distance learning provider, you can still apply to redo your matric subjects through Impaq. To register, you must have had a sitting for the Final Examination. (Please note: terms and conditions apply.) Grade 12 repeaters who have had a sitting for the Final Examination prior to 2014 must repeat the portfolio and Final Examination, as there were no SBA marks prior to 2014 and, therefore, cannot be used for resulting purposes.
We encourage you to finalise your Grade 10 - 12 registration as soon as possible to avoid missing important assessments - the first compulsory test series for the year already kicks off in March. The cut-off date for Term 1 registrations for 2023 was 17 February. Should you register your learner after this date, please note the following:
- We will require a valid, up-to-date report card.
- If no marks are available for tests/exams that have already taken place, the learner will receive a zero mark for these.
- An invigilator must be appointed to oversee all tests and exams.
- An assessor must be appointed for certain subjects with practical components.
- Take note of the critical enrolment information.
Visual Arts and Information Technology cannot be registered for the first time in Grade 12.
Once you’ve applied and been accepted, Impaq will register you with SACAI to ensure that you receive your new (and improved) National Senior Certificate (NSC) after passing the Final Examination for the rewritten subjects.
