Can my Grade 1 to 3 child complete more than one grade in a year?
While it is possible for Grade 1 to 3 learners to complete multiple grades in one academic year, we do not recommend this because the Foundation Phase curriculum is already jam-packed. If you move over themes too fast, your learner may not fully grasp the material; as each year builds on the previous one, you risk some important building blocks getting lost along the way.
Learners are also not necessarily emotionally ready for the increased workload - they may not be able to sit still for long periods of time, struggle to focus or find it difficult to socialise within their peer group.
