How do I log in to my Winter School subject sessions on Zoom?
1. Follow the steps below to join any one of your Winter School subject sessions on Zoom:
- Step 1: Open your inbox and find the email with the subject line “Winter School: [‘Subject name’]" for the session you want to join. It contains all the info you’ll need to register and log in to the session.
- Step 2: Click on the Meeting link in the abovementioned email. You will be directed to a registration page like the one shown below. Fill in your details, then click “Register”. A confirmation email with login details will be sent to the provided email address.
- Step 3: The confirmation email contains the “Join Meeting” link. Use it to log in to your subject session on the day. The link will direct you to the Zoom app, where a pop-up will appear on your screen. Click “Open Zoom Meetings.”
- Step 4: You will be directed to a virtual waiting room until
the host admits you to the session. When the host admits you, the session will
start.
2. What should I do if the Zoom meeting doesn’t open
automatically?
If the pop-up doesn’t appear, click “Launch Meeting” on the main Zoom page. If you experience any further issues, you might need to do the following
2.1. Install the Zoom app on your device.
- Step 1: Once on the main Zoom page, download the app by clicking “Download Now”.
- Step 2: Navigate to your Downloads folder and double-click
on the Zoom installation file. Once installation is complete, you should
be automatically directed to the session. If you’re still experiencing issues
at this point, do the following:
2.2. Log in manually.
- Step 1: Open the Zoom app on your device after installation.
- Step 2: Click on “Join a Meeting”. You will be prompted to enter the session login details, including the Meeting ID.
- Step 3: Click “Join” to enter a waiting room until the host
admits you to the session. When the host admits you, the session will start.
