What are the hardware and/or software requirements for the Impaq Online School?
Stable internet access on a laptop or PC (a cellphone or tablet is not recommended) with a webcam and microphone is required for the online school. Due to the increased data use for video during sessions, the performance of your network will have a direct result on the quality of the lesson. To optimise your experience, we recommend a fibre line of 10MB or better.
An easy way to determine your network capacity is to do a speed test. You can use any available source on the internet; we used OOKLA for this example. Below is an example of a stable connection:
The minimum requirements for your internet connection should be as per the below:
- Ping: As low as possible (anything less than 20 is very good)
- Download speed: This is the speed available to download and present the video stream from any other device and should be greater than 5mbps, at the time of running the test.
- Upload speed: This is the speed available to upload your video and present it to others, this is a not very high priority on packages as most people only use the download function to access the internet. Upload speed should be more than 3Mbps to be really effective.
