What is an assessor?

An assessor is a qualified teacher who has a valid SACE number and the relevant experience to assess a Practical Assessment Task (PAT) or oral for subjects in the FET Phase with practical components. For Agricultural Management Practices, the assessor must be a farmer or veterinarian.

More detail on the specific requirements for assessors can be found in the Assessment information for Grade 10 to 12, which can be downloaded from the Optimi Learning Portal under Resources > General Documents. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that the necessary arrangements for the assessment are in place.

Learners may also complete their PATs and orals by attending an Impaq assessment event. Tickets to these events (along with details regarding the dates, times and specific information for a particular PAT or oral) can be found on the Optimi Plus online store. Please contact us should you not be able to find a suitable assessment event.

*Learners registered for practical subjects offered by the Impaq Online School do not require assessors as their teachers will assess PATs and orals for these subjects.
