What should I do if I missed one of my final NSC examinations?

If you were absent for one or more question papers with a valid reason (medically unfit, death in the immediate family, or other special reasons), you may register for the NSC May/June examination. You can write only the outstanding paper(s), or all the papers in a specific subject.

NB: Documentary proof substantiating the reason for absenteeism must be submitted to SACAI’s head office to ensure entry to the May/June examination. A previous Umalusi certificate or statement of results should also be presented as proof of registration for the November examinations.
